CRAFT NIGHT AT CAMELINA

December 10, 2008

Crafting is a traditional winter activity.  Most of us have some kind of project we're working on there is no better way to get it done than in good company with music, food and shared expertise.  There have been several Craft Nights and this time it was our turn to play host and hostess.  Bob posted a short video of our splendid evening on You Tube.

JESSI, IAN AND DAVIN

Jessi brought her crochet hook and started making a hat.  Ian shows off his handiwork - Davin!  Davin is all wrapped in an afgahn Camille crocheted.

NOTHING TO DREAD

Sometimes you just have to dive in and tackle that project you've been thinking of.  Or perhaps you thought we were talking about Kathryn's new hairdo...  For a closer look, click the photo on the left.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY

Mary Beth is knitting a really neat scarf for her dad.  Jeremy has been patching a pair of jeans for weeks.  He saves the chore for Craft Night.  Jack brought a bag of cedar and made some aromatic smudge sticks.  When our smudge stick is dry, we can burn it to purify Camelina.  To view a larger picture of the ever-so-photogenic Mary Beth, click the photo on the left.

GETTING RIGHT DOWN TO IT

Adah and Rob were among the first to arrive and they came equipped with armfuls of wisteria.  Adah showed Rob how to make a basket by cutting the vines in half, stripping the bark and weaving them together.

A JOB WELL DONE

Rob's first basket is quite beautiful and specifically designed for mushroom hunting.
