KATE AND MOLLY

These two have been friends since they were about 3 years old.  We found them swinging in the park and took them out for dinner on March 17.

A RAINY DAY OUTING

On March 24, we met Emily and her friend Amber, Amy and her friends Mary Jo and Meagan and had ourselves an outing to a museum and lunch.  Amy and Meagan stand beside Amy's new car.

THE TRIUMVIRATE

As explained by Emily, Amy, Mary Jo and Meagan are three facets of the same person with a triple sense of humor.

On the way home, Bob snapped this picture of the storm drifting away.

TOAST OF THE TOWN

Shirley treated us to a fabulous lunch in the famed Palettes Restaurant at the Denver Art Museum after A Taste of Big City Culture and A Romp Through the Art Museum March 25.

HIDDEN TREASURE

Camille spotted something in the grass during one of her walks down by the river.

Which turned out to be a carcass.

Specifically, a cow elk carcass that had been buried in the snow.

MYSTERY OF THE REMAINS

A mystery remains regarding how this animal died.  What makes the evidence confusing is that the hindquarters and the hide were missing, but not the ivory teeth.  [Click on the photo to the left to see a detail of the ivory.]  Ordinarily, hunters will remove the hide, ivory, tenderloins and hindquarters before tossing the rest.  If this had been the work of coyotes, they would have dragged off the hindquarters and left the skeleton resting on the hide.

YEP, YOU HEARD RIGHT
