ALL THE PRETTY ANIMALS
STOCK SHOW AND RODEO - What better place to see animals? On this day we saw horses, mules, donkeys, cattle, rabbits, sheep, humans and many more animal species.
January 21, 2006
AMERICAN BISON
We began our animal walk with a tour around the stock yards.
TIBETAN YAKS
The most surprising thing about the yaks was their thick tails.
BREAK TIME
If the truth be told, the real reason we came to the show was for the funnel cakes. Bob and Eric found a sunny spot to go to work on theirs.
DIM THE LIGHTS
In the rodeo arena, the show began in the dark with a stream of horses and riders wearing lights.
HALF TI ME
First, a one-armed man riding a white horse, sans bridle, rounds up two buffalo.
After a few loops around the arena, the "One-armed Bandit" herds the two massive animals up onto the top of the stock trailer.
And follows them up the ramp at a canter! Click on the picture for a closer look.
STUBBORN AS A MULE
After the rodeo, we wandered over to the staging grounds for the donkey and mule show.
BRAY FOR PEACE
Now, that's what we're talking about!
