WELCOME TO THE HOTEL CAMELINA

We had two sets of overnight visitors in July. Frankie, Amy and Tony came for one night and Matt, Sarah and Andrew the two following nights.  Frankie and his interns got in late and left early but we were able to spend a bit more time with Matt and his crew.

A FRESH, NEW DAY

We put the camera on the car and posed for an after breakfast picture before plunging into a busy day.  Click on the photo for a closer look at this happy group.  From the left: Andrew, Sarah, Matt, Camille and Bob.

A STOP AT THE CO-OP

Amy mugs for the camera with David in the background.  Tim minds his Cavitator, a simply elegant way to make well-converted Biodiesel while scratching Buddy.  Buddy is an amazing animal.  Depending on who you talk to, he is either extremely stupid or quite canny.  His favorite trick is to lay on the Pittsboro Moncure Road to watch the traffic swerve out of his way.  When he realizes that a vehicle is not going to try to avoid hitting him, he'll get up and move off to the side.

IT GUYS

Bob and Matt troubleshoot a broken fan in the desk computer.

FRISBEE AT AUGUSTA

Sarah finishes up a round of Frisbee Golf with a toss to the last pin, which also happens to be the first pin and the place where David spent the game icing his knee.  With David's first Frisbee toss, he heard a snap and crumbled in pain.  He had blown out his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament,) requiring surgery a couple of weeks later.  Camille and Giant, David's faithful dog, kept him company until the game was over.

MUSIC AT CAMELINA

It was the perfect setting for a little music, with dinner drawing near and the sun going down.  It was nice to see Jack relaxing on the lawn.  We found out that Sarah plays a beautiful guitar and were also treated to some Wire Brush on Dutch Oven percussion courtesy of Link and Amy.

Amy also played the harmonica and Adah played guitar.  The dogs came over for a little spoiling from Evan, Adah and Amy.

JUST THE BEGINNING

By the time we all sat down to dinner, there were thirteen pairs of shoes on this deck.
